Lind Milling Company is a local family owned business that began over 50 years ago in Cartersville, South Carolina by my Grandfather, Murdoch Lind Jr., providing local stores and customers with stone ground, sifted corn and wheat products.

The mill operated until around 2000, and then sat dormant until 2023. We are starting out again, because we want these products for our own family. We figure if we want it for our family, maybe some of you do to! We’ve cleaned the mill up, got everything back running, and now our goal is to provide quaility stone ground corn products with high quality organic heirloom style corn, non-gmo, no additives, no preservatives, no chemicals…..just corn.

Types of Corn

Eventually we’d like to grow and harvest our own corn, but for now we are working with local farmers and organic farms to grow non-gmo heirloom style corn such as Jimmy Red and Henry Moore Yellow.

How It’s Ground

Once we receive the corn, we ensure its quality and run it through a cleaner to remove any debris. Then we use a 16 inch stone mill from Meadows Mill that was purchased in 1977 to grind the corn to the desired product.

Final Product

After the corn is sent through the mill it is sifted, collected and bagged immediately by hand and then heat sealed using Kraft bags. From there its either shipped out or stored in a freezer to maintain freshness. That’s It!
